SATSANGIS ARE SPECIAL

SATSANGIS ARE SPECIAL, AND NON— SATSANGIS ARE......"

Many of us label everyone who has been initiated as "satsangi" and call other people "non satsangi". In this way we veiw the sangat as if it were an exclusive club, as if all the "members of this club" are special, or even superior to those who are not initated. Calling people satsangis or non satsangis  or "Radha Soamis we slip mindlessly into the age - old human tendency of drawing a sharp line between" us"and "them"
What do we mean when we say "I come from a satsangi family" or "Do you come from a satsangi family"? How can a family be "satsangi"? Sat means truth, and Sang means association with. Satsangi means one who is in the company of truth. A real satsangi is one who has merged in the "SHABD" merged in Spiritual Truth. The rest of us are seeking. We may call ourselves initiates, we may call ourselves Seekers. If we're honest and think clearly, we'd hesitate to call ourselves "SATSANGIS"
Some of us frame our choice of a marriage partner in terms of satsangi vs non- satsangi. Some of us name our business Radha Soami grocery shop. We print stickers or paint Radha Soami on our cars to advertise to the world that we belong to the "satsangi" club
What are we doing? Aren't we treating our Master's sangat as if it were an exclusive social group? Aren't we making a division of "us" vs "them"? When we label others as non - satsangis do we judge them as being either inferior or somehow misguided or just simply "not one of us"?
In question and answer sessions whenever a questioner refers to someone as a non - satsangi, the present Master says something like : HOW DOES IT MAKE A DIFFERENCE? A satsangi is one who has realized the Shabd. We are still seeking, so there is no difference.
When someone complains about other's criticizing our way of life, Master says something like : if you want them to respect your way of life, you have to respect their way of life. Who are we to say our philosophy is right and theirs is wrong?. He often points out that the Lord's love is there for each and every being in equal measure. In the Lord's eyes, all the distinctions we make –cast, creed, religion – do not exist. For the Lord, we are all souls yearning for union with Him.
In his satsangs the present Master often hammers  home the point that Huzur spent 40 years helping us to go beyond our religions, caste, countries and colour. So why He asks, are we creating new boundaries?
"LETS NOT DIVIDE GOD'S UNDIVIDED FAMILY INTO" US AND " THEM"
